Today, we want to talk about croquet – a game not only rich in history and popular among the English aristocracy but also one of the favorite games of our campers in our summer English learning camp.

While in the 19th century, croquet was indeed a game for British aristocrats, it has since spread worldwide. It has retained its aristocratic charm and elegance, and our camp team in the UK and Poland is happy to uphold this tradition! So much so that croquet has become an integral part of the British Camp language camp at our London, Town, Mountain, and River locations.

For many campers, this game has been a real discovery, and we often gather on a spacious lawn where an authentic British game unfolds. Playing in teams, children and teenagers learn to work together, think strategically, plan their moves, and make tactical decisions.

Most importantly, at the British Camp English learning camp, we speak English even while playing croquet! Perhaps this is why we sometimes feel like true locals.
We invite you to join our English-speaking camp! Let’s improve our English while playing croquet and much more.
