- First of all, do not demand everything from yourself at once. Start with simple sentences, words, and grammatical structures. I know you want to talk like Harry Styles or Emma Watson right away, but everything comes with time. And it will definitely come, don’t even doubt it!
- Do not criticize yourself for every little thing. Making mistakes is normal. Moreover, it is from mistakes that we learn. All of us have started somewhere and we all have made mistakes. Yes, even neut speakers.
- Don’t be afraid to ask something if you didn’t understand. We all have different speech rates, different accents, so not understanding something right away is absolutely normal. At the camp, our teachers will always answer questions and additionally explain the tasks.
- Find your comfortable environment. If it wasn’t there, but if you are not comfortable with your teacher or other students, then overcoming the language barrier will be quite difficult. That is why, in the camp, we create the most friendly atmosphere both during lessons and during other activities. Teachers do not criticize, but help to deal with a mistake in order to avoid it in the future. By working in pairs and mini-groups, campers learn to support each other, listen to each other and help each other.
- Finally, you want to talk when it’s interesting! That is why in the camp we choose interesting topics for conversations and formats of lessons and evenings, at which it is simply impossible to remain silent!
