Do you know how to make sure your child never likes English again?
1. Keep reminding them that at their age, you were already in university and knew three languages
In fact, the more you compare them to yourself or your friends, the better. There’s no faster way to demotivate them.
2. Demand perfect pronunciation from day one
Is it okay to speak with an accent? Your child must pronounce every word like they’ve just arrived from London. If not, make sure to correct them immediately during their responses.
3. No series, games, or songs in English
Why let your child enjoy the process or waste time on things they don’t fully understand? Stick to textbooks and rules, dry grammar, and endless exercises.
4. Don’t involve any extra teachers or psychologists
The problem isn’t in the lack of tools for learning or the wrong approach, but in children’s and teens’ motivation and understanding. Let them figure it out on their own – after all, what’s school for?!
We hope you realize that this is all irony!
